Nicole B. Hansen resides on Luxor's West Bank, overlooking the Temple of Amenhotep III. Her research interests reflect her life in Egypt: the continuity of ancient Egyptian culture until the present day, animals, medicine, magic, culinary history, and crime. She served as editor of Kent Weeks' award winning Theban Mapping Project website and archivist for Mark Lehner's Giza Plateau Mapping Project, and developed the world's first online hieroglyphs course. She taught courses on Egyptian art, language and culture at the University of Chicago, the American University in Cairo and Amideast.
